David Andreozzi Discusses Place and Empowerment
Rhode Island native and architect David Andreozzi of Andreozzi Architecture didn’t even return to collect his clothes—he had them mailed to him—after an hour-long conversation with the Dean of the Division of Architecture & Design at RISD during a Christmas break back home. He sought out this conversation after realizing his penchant for design. This is a great example story explaining David’s respect for what empowerment can do for young people; as a beneficiary of being listened to and advised, David devotes much of his life as a mentor and ambassador to causes he believes in, including CORA (Congress of Residential Architecture), CRAN (Custom Residential Architects Network), the ICAA (Institute of Classical Architecture), and Lutyens Trust America.
David also shared with us his process when it comes to working with clients and assembling a team. Cheryl, his wife of 40 years, has been integral to his success as well, including fostering in him an addiction…to watercolor painting, a move that has been helping David get over his fear of color.
