  • Kevin Cradock Builders is looking for skilled woodworkers and millworkers. If you can build a cabinet from a set of drawings, set up a shaper accurately, or lay out veneered doors, this job may be for you.

    Job Title: Woodworker

    Reports To: Millwork Manager

    OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

    • Deliver high-quality woodworking and millwork that aligns with design specifications and KCB’s quality standards

    • Accurately interpret and build from architectural and shop drawings

    • Maintain attention to project goals and time milestones, monitoring individual progress to ensure timely completion

    • Use company time productively and demonstrate focus during work hours

    • Exhibit craftsmanship in both machine and hand-tool operations, producing accurate parts and assemblies

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE

    • Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machinery safely and effectively

    • Prepare materials for finishing, including sanding and inspection, ensuring pieces are ready for the next stage

    • Assist in planning field joints and installation strategies based on site conditions and project requirements

    • Accurately estimate labor and generate a sequenced schedule for woodworking phases based on drawings and instructions

    • Scribe and assemble templates for trim or millwork installation

    • Maintain and protect work documents such as drawings and plans throughout project phases

    • Follow safety guidelines, including the consistent use of appropriate PPE and OSHA training practices

    • Demonstrate physical readiness for demanding work environments, including lifting, material handling, and extended tool use

    • Produce consistent output of accurate components that fall within expected tolerances

    • Plan millwork installation strategy from site review and communicate it effectively to others

    • Coordinate between field and shop, including templating and pre-fabrication planning

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a job site culture that emphasizes a positive approach to our work

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Completion of KCW Apprenticeship Levels 1–3 or equivalent professional experience

    • Strong understanding of joinery, hand skills, and traditional woodworking techniques; ability and willingness to train others in these techniques

    • Ability to operate machines independently and maintain tooling properly

    • Demonstrated ability to lay out face frames, operate a mortiser, and size tenons correctly

    • OSHA 10 certification, or within 6 months of hire

    • Ability to read and follow complex shop drawings with minimal supervision

    • Capable of selecting and marking reference points for cabinetry scribing and installation without supervision

    • Skilled in advanced joinery techniques such as dovetailing and precision hand sawing

    Job Title: Carpenter

    Reports to: Site Supervisor and Project Manager

    OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

    • Perform rough and finish carpentry in all settings, both indoors and outdoors

    • Focus on traditional New England style carpentry with a high level of detail and craftsmanship

    • Work on high-end residential construction projects requiring quality workmanship and teamwork

    • Interpret and follow blueprints, specifications, and drawings accurately

    • Maintain job site standards and timelines through effective communication and planning

    • Demonstrate responsibility for tools and readiness for consistent quality output

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE

    • Lead assistant carpenters through large scopes of carpentry work on our various sites

    • Organize your tasks and, at times, the tasks of other less experienced carpenters

    • Aid project management teams in the estimating of carpentry task durations

    • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope and materials required for each project

    • Accurate, clear layout and planning

    • Install all carpentry-related components of the home

    • Renovation framing of interior spaces, or ability to fully frame a structure

    • Expertly install all interior and exterior carpentry finishes such as doors, windows, trim, cabinets, siding, and hardware

    • Communicate with other team members to ensure project quality standards, and timelines are met

    • Maintain tools and equipment in a state of readiness for excellent work

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finish carpentry with an emphasis on traditional New England style carpentry

    • Substantial experience with and understanding of rough carpentry

    • Full set of personal tools and gear, KCB will provide a list of required tools

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a job site culture that emphasizes a positive approach to our work

    • Willingness to help train rising carpenters and apprentices

    • Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable work vehicle that can carry all needed equipment

    • OSHA 10 at hiring, or within 6 months of employment

    Job title: Construction Superintendent

    Reports to: Project Manager and Operations Manager

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE

    ● Supervise and coordinate all work on your site

    ● Ensure your project site is at Baseline or better: safe, clean, organized and with high morale

    ● Supervise safety for the entire job site

    ● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project design, specifications, budget and schedule

    ● Conduct weekly status reviews to update in-progress project knowledge

    ● Develop & track project progress against schedule

    ● Supervise KCB crews at the site

    ● Supervise trade partners at the site

    ● Direct, coordinate and schedule subcontractors’ work at the site

    ● Maintain control of material ordering schedule, storage and onsite inventory

    ● Responsible for Quality Control on all work performed at the project site

    ● Engage, resolve and close issues that arise at the project

    ● Manage and complete assigned project documentation

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    ● 5 years’ experience as Construction Super or Lead on projects exceeding $1M value

    ● Computer skills: email, spreadsheet management, personal task management

    ● Organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills, and the ability to generate "flow" on a project"

    ● Familiarity with all normally-encountered residential systems e.g. MEP, integration

    ● Valid MA driver's license and personal work vehicle

    ● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, or climb for extended periods of time

    ● Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

    LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION (at hire or within 12 months of employment):

    ● MA CSL, unrestricted

    ● RRP Lead Certification

    ● OSHA 10

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Job title: Project Manager

    Reports to: Operations Manager

    OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

    • Manage KCB projects from preconstruction through completion, meeting expectations on schedule and budget while upholding the company’s standards for quality, safety and efficiency.

    • Build effective working relationships with the KCB team as well as customers and design team

    • Manage all project permitting and inspections, and ensure the work meets all regulatory requirements

    • Participate actively in KCB’s culture of team building, training and constant improvement of our work 

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

    • Manage the completion of any contracted preconstruction scope

    • Develop complete knowledge and understanding of the project by studying all available information; confirm budget structure and identify key project milestones 

    • Manage the project’s safety program, including generation of specific plan, employee orientation, supply management, and regular inspections.

    • Create accurate scopes of work or purchase orders for sub/vendor teams, and manage the buyout process on-schedule

    • Maintain a clean, well-organized work space.  Confirm that job site conditions, including appearance, attitude and morale of staff, are in line with KCB Baseline standards.

    • Coordinate the purchase of all project materials, equipment, supplies

    • Provide KCB tools and equipment, or rental gear, for the project as needed, and arrange transport to the site. 

    • Support Lead or Super as they track hardware, material and supply needs for the project and organize their arrival: condensing lists and analyzing for efficiency, using as little KCB staff labor as possible to cause materials to arrive on site, on time.

    • With Lead or Super, manage the quality control process for the project

    • Review crew hours daily, ensuring these are correct for billing.

    • Update project schedule on an ongoing basis; share updates to project group at scheduled intervals and use updated info to create lookaheads with Lead or Super

    • Generate accurate and timely biweekly project requisitions and payments, and maintain expected cashflow throughout the duration of the project

    • Create Change Events when scope changes arise, move these into timely approval to avoid at-risk work and maintain a full understanding of approved Change Orders

    • Participate in regular site meetings between customers (including their design team, if applicable) and KCB project staff. 

    • Maintain complete Procore project documentation, including RFIs purchase orders, sub commitments, change order logs, shop drawings, daily logs, OAC correspondence 

    • Create punch list with project team and manage its completion

    • Manage the completion and closeout of subcontractors’ scopes and documentation 

    • Supervise the creation of the project’s Owner Manual

    • Complete final organization and archiving of project files

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5-10 years’ experience as Project Manager on projects exceeding $1M value 

    • A track record of successfully completed projects, including healthy customer and team relationships, and strong financial outcomes, at end of job

    • Strong skills with Procore project management and fluency in all aspects of computer-based project management: email, document storage, spreadsheets, etc

    • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written

    • Organizational, scheduling and time-management skills: ability to generate flow on a project

    • Familiarity with all normally-encountered residential systems e.g. MEP, integration

    • Valid MA driver's license and personal work vehicle 

    • Self-motivation: approach work with an inherent sense of urgency and purpose

    • Ability to lead a team effectively, including conflict resolution and a shared understanding of purpose

    • Willingness to work in a chain of command, and good instincts for when issues may or may not need to be escalated

    • Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly identify an effective course of action

    LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION (at hire or within 6 months of employment)

    • Maintain current, unlimited MA Construction Supervisor’s license, codebooks and familiarity with the latest revisions of all applicable codes. 

    • Maintain RRP licensing and ensure these practices are being followed where applicable. 

    • Maintain OSHA 10 certification and ensure job site is in compliance.
