KCB Boiler Room Breakfast Club with Boston Stone Restoration

The second KCB Boiler Room Breakfast Club took place with Boston Stone Restoration and media partner Boston Design Guide on Thursday, May 18th. Paul and Melissa Bunis, owners of BSR, spoke to the group about their services and products - repairing stone surfaces and protecting them from etching.

“We don’t sell, fabricate or install stone,” Melissa explained. “We fix and protect all types of natural stone including marble, slate, limestone, travertine, and onyx.”

Years ago, the team at Boston Stone Restoration identified a significant demand for safeguarding the beloved White Carrara marble surfaces cherished by homeowners. Following thorough research and a few trial and error instances, BSR came across MORE Surface Care, a brand that provides a durable and nearly undetectable protective barrier for natural stone. Today, BSR collaborates with architects, builders, interior designers, and homeowners to safeguard the investment of a beautiful natural stone.

Melissa and Paul showed examples of marble and spoke about other stone surfaces and their properties, explaining how the product works, and when and where to use it - preferably before the client uses their surfaces.

“If you apply the anti-etch in advance, you’re an expert. If you tell your clients after the fact, you’re providing an excuse,” Paul told those present.

Cleaning, removing etching, polishing, and repairing cracks and chips (of a specific size) are all services provided by BSR. “We take pride in restoring stone to its natural beauty,” Melissa said. “You do not have to replace the stone in most cases.”

Paul also has expertise in repairing fireplace surrounds and hearths, and natural stone floors. They work in residential and commercial settings and recently won a PRO NE Award for restoring the bar tops at One Dalton.
